The University regularly obtains internship opportunities for its students throughout the year in the USA and overseas to enhance their knowledge and gain practical business experience. For the near future, due to the current pandemic, it is anticipated that a substantial proportion of internships – although by no means all – will be virtual. This will apply particularly to overseas placements. FIABCI members are invited to consider appointing Coastal Carolina students as interns. They can work part-time or full-time for periods of between one month and three months. Their studies, covering a wide range of business subjects, are likely to be relevant to most real estate organizations. They include:
The terms of employment are flexible. As a guide, remuneration is generally in the region of US $10 to US $12 per hour and the normal minimum period of engagement is 180 hours. This provides 3 university credits for the student. However, the quality of learning experience is a primary factor and every effort is made to meet the employer’s requirements. Hours are generally worked during a fall, spring or summer semester. FIABCI members interested in employing a Coastal student as an intern may also contact one of the following:
FIABCI-USA is serving as a liaison between its members and interested students at the Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics at Coastal Carolina University (“CCU”) by providing this link to CCU’s informational website about its internship program for students interested in real estate careers (“CCU Internship Program”). The Grant Center at CCU focuses on commercial, industrial, and investment property, and works alongside the student-led Real Estate Club.
