FIABCI-USA Background

Since 1954, FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, has enjoyed Special Consultative Status with the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Council. In October 2016, FIABCI participated in the UN's Habitat III conference in Quito, Ecuador and since has renewed its focus on sustainable real estate development and has pledged to help the UN Habitat implement their New Urban Agenda.

As part of FIABCI's pledge to find solutions to these important global issues, a best-practices book was published and disseminated at the conference. This book outlines and highlights some best-practice, innovative workforce housing projects on a global scale. Post conference, FIABCI-USA has committed to take the book, it's platform and mandate to each of our 10 FIABCI-USA Councils and begin a conversation with other real estate professionals, students, urban planners and politicians from a global and local perspective.
